After last year’s rainout, the Annual Riverdale First Responders 5K Run and Walk returned with a bang, featuring perfect weather that saw bright sunshine and cool temperatures in the 60s. Participants and spectators alike enjoyed a stunning fall day, making it an ideal backdrop for an inspiring community event.

The race kicked off with an energetic atmosphere as local first responders led the way, emphasizing the importance of community and health. The course, winding through Riverdale Park, showcased scenic views and plenty of cheering crowds, creating a supportive environment for all runners and walkers.
In the men’s division, Trevor Odgers showcased his exceptional speed and endurance, crossing the finish line first to claim the overall title. The women’s race was a nail-biter, featuring an electrifying sprint finish between Kimberly Lubba and Tara Moran. With just .3 seconds separating them, Lubba edged out Moran in a thrilling end to the race. Both women’s determination and athleticism shone through, adding to the excitement of the day.

Overall, this year’s event successfully brought the community together, honoring the bravery and commitment of local first responders while promoting health and fitness. Runners, walkers, families, and supporters celebrated with smiles and camaraderie, making it a memorable occasion for all involved.
