7th Annual 5K for Pizza: Hoboken
Date: Saturday, September 19, 2026
Location: Hoboken Waterfront
The waterfront was buzzing on Saturday morning as runners and walkers took to a flat, fast, USA Track & Field sanctioned course along the scenic Hudson River. While the stunning skyline views are always a major draw, the real prize awaited at the finish line festival—where participants refueled with slices from legendary local pizzerias including Napoli's, Park Avenue Pizza, Pizzeria on Pine, Tino's Artisan Pizza Co., and Imposto's. Runners also got creative competing for the "Best Dressed" pizza attire award.
The celebratory energy seamlessly rolled right into the official after-party down the street at The Ainsworth Hoboken, where participants toasted their accomplishments with race-bib dining discounts.
Adam Khaliefeh led the field, taking the overall victory in 16:05 as the top three finished in under 17:05. On the women's side, Leighanna Ritter took the overall female category in 20:14, edging out Julianna Kascic (20:45).

The racing action shifted to Morris County on Sunday for a deeply meaningful cause. In honor of National Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, hundreds of community members braved the rain and gathered to "Go Gold" and raise critical research funding and support for families fighting childhood cancer.
The USATF-NJ sanctioned 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run kicked off directly on the high school track, wound through neighborhood streets, and returned for an energetic track finish surrounded by local vendors, music, and an emotional recognition ceremony honoring pediatric cancer heroes.
Cameron Sontz took the overall competiton, stopping the clock at 19:54 while Clare Glodde too the women's race, running 22:13, securing 12th overall.
