2025 Spring Sprint 5K Race Report

The 2025 Spring Sprint 5K took place on Sunday, April 27th, 2025, at Secaucus High School. Participants and spectators alike enjoyed a day characterized by windy yet pleasant temperatures, particularly as the sun emerged from behind the clouds, creating an ideal atmosphere for racing.


The competition was fierce, with Mike Ciavarella claiming victory in a remarkable time of 18:47. Notably, Shari Seshadri triumphed in the women’s category, finishing with an impressive time of 22:54, which secured her the 12th position overall.

This event, organized by Partners in Prevention, served as a vital fundraiser aimed at enhancing wellness and combating substance use disorders alongside related health challenges within Hudson County and New Jersey. The organization’s mission is furthered through various initiatives, including educational programs designed to inform community members about health-related topics, the Hudson County Coalition—comprising dedicated volunteers and professionals striving to diminish youth substance abuse through policy reform and advocacy, and the Lindsey Meyer Teen Institute, which empowers young individuals to recognize their leadership potential and effectuate positive changes within their communities.


The Spring Sprint 5K not only showcased athletic prowess but also reinforced the importance of community engagement in promoting health and wellness.
