2025 Run on the Reservoir: New Beginnings Charity Run

West Orange was buzzing this morning as over 100 runners gathered at the scenic South Mountain Reservoir for the 2025 Run on the Reservoir: New Beginnings Charity Run. Hosted by the New Jersey Bankruptcy Lawyers Foundation, the event marked an inspiring start to the spring racing season, raising funds for local charitable initiatives.

The racecourse featured two picturesque loops around the reservoir, offering participants a serene yet challenging route. Cool temperatures and clear skies provided ideal running conditions, and the enthusiasm from runners and spectators alike made for a festive, uplifting atmosphere.
On the men’s side, it was a thrilling finish. Jacks Khawaja outkicked Peter Gliatto in the final stretch, crossing the line in 19:23, just one second ahead of Gliatto’s 19:24. Both athletes pushed each other throughout the race, delivering a nail-biting conclusion that had spectators cheering wildly at the finish line.
The women’s competition was equally impressive. Nicola Meheran claimed top honors with a strong performance, finishing in 22:19, which also secured her 7th place overall.
From first-timers to seasoned runners, the event brought together a vibrant community dedicated to fitness, fun, and giving back. With the support of volunteers and sponsors, the 2025 New Beginnings Charity Run was a resounding success, leaving everyone looking forward to next year’s edition.
