Despite stormy skies and steady rainfall, over 300 determined runners laced up their shoes and took to the streets of Fort Lee for the 7th Annual Running for Our Youth 5K, hosted by Fort Lee PBA Local 245. The event, a community favorite, featured a fast and flat course designed to bring out personal bests—all in support of programs and initiatives benefiting the children of Fort Lee.

This year's overall winner was Matthew Ulloa, who powered through the slick course to take the top spot with a commanding time of 17:20, holding off the field and setting the tone early on. On the women’s side, Barbara Willock delivered a dominating performance of her own, claiming the women’s title in 22:23 and proving that a little rain couldn't dampen determination.

The challenging conditions didn’t deter the energy of the morning, as runners, volunteers, and spectators came out in full support—ponchos, umbrellas, and all. The Fort Lee PBA once again put on a well-organized and meaningful event, reinforcing their dedication to community outreach and youth support.

While the weather was tough, the community spirit was tougher. From first-timers to seasoned athletes, every finisher crossed the line with a story of resilience—adding to the rich legacy of this annual race.

A big congratulations to all participants and heartfelt thanks to the organizers, sponsors, and volunteers who made the 2025 Running for Our Youth 5K a success, rain and all. We'll see you next year—hopefully with sunnier skies!
