Hey folks! The 13th Annual Trot the Manor 5k proved to be another memorable event, even with a cold and rainy Thanksgiving Day greeting us. Runners took to the quiet suburban streets of Chatham, New Jersey, in what turned out to be an exciting, albeit wet, morning of camaraderie and competition in order to help raise funds to the Chatham Fire Department!

Key Highlights

Despite the dreary weather, spirits were high as participants lined up at the starting line. The course wound beautifully along tree-lined streets, showcasing the charming neighborhoods. The sound of eager footsteps echoed off the pavement, setting the stage for a competitive spirit that came alive in the chilly atmosphere.


Outstanding Performances

In a fantastic display of athleticism, Marcus Valenzuela claimed the overall title, stopping the clock at an impressive 17:28. His speed and determination really lit up the dreary day, leaving spectators and fellow runners in awe. As Marcus crossed that finish line, the crowd erupted in cheers, celebrating the hard work and dedication he put into his training.

On the women’s side, Mia Madden demonstrated remarkable skill and endurance, finishing strong at 20:16. Mia’s determination shone through despite the challenging conditions, inspiring many along the way. Both winners exemplified the athletic spirit that makes this event so special.


Conclusion


The Trot the Manor 5k is more than just a race; it’s about the community coming together every year to share the start of the holiday season together. Along the route, volunteers braved the rain, offering cheers and refreshments, reminding everyone that their support means the world.


As runners gathered post-race to reflect and warm up with hot cocoa, bonds were formed and stories were shared. The 13th Annual Trot the Manor 5k was indeed a family affair, celebrating not just athletic achievement but also the spirit of Thanksgiving.
